FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR SPONSORS

I (or my company) would like to sponsor under a different terms from the standard options but not anonymously. Is this possible?
Yes. On our sponsor application form, please choose "Other" and provide additional details in Additional Details at the bottom of the form. We will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss further if appropriate.

Who are your primary audience?
Our primary audiences are 35-50, and 50 or older, majority (but not all) male, all ethnicities. The majority began as American pro wrestling fans who grew up in the 1980s and 90s, who later discovered the appeal of the Japanese style (and Joshi Puroresu, or Japanese women's pro wrestling, in particular) through tape trading and on the internet by the late 90s. While pro wrestling fans are often assumed to share crossover with combat sports such as MMA or other competitive sports and martial arts, pro wrestling in the US has, for decades, had a significant crossover with the fandom of comic books, video games, sci-fi movie/TV franchises, and theater.
There is a strong overlap with the demographic of sci-fi and superhero comic book fan conventions and e-sports (video game) events.

Is Spark Joshi family-friendly?
Yes, our shows are appropriate for a PG audience equivalent, at most, with less graphic violence than depicted in mainstream sci-fi and superhero movies and TV shows. We are not a "hardcore" pro wrestling brand, so our audiences do not expect any deliberate use of blood or gore.

Does your audience include a Japanese fanbase?
Yes. Spark Joshi shows often feature talent from Japan, including legendary stars of eras past, who have appeared in major American brands and top Japanese companies in the 1990s, as well as the stars of the top Joshi brands in Japan today. Additionally, Spark Joshi ran a sold-out live show in Japan in 2024.
While Japanese-Americans are more likely to be aware of the legends from decades past, current Joshi Puroresu fans who presently live in Japan regularly travel to our shows to follow their favorite stars to America. The present-day Japanese pro wrestling audience has a strong crossover with J-Pop idol groups, which also appeals to some of the western fans of Japanese wrestling due to the shared interest in Japanese pop culture.

Is your audience interested in Japanese food or other Japanese products and services?
Yes. The Spark Joshi brand, and other Japanese pro wrestling in the United States, also frequently attract an audience with a strong interest in Japanese culture (both traditional and pop culture), food, and language - including sushi, anime, manga, kawaii culture, J-pop, martial arts, and Japanese video games.
So if your brand or business fits any of these niches, you are likely to have a strong appeal with a large percentage of our audience.
